Astro Building Services (ABS) is Disabled Veteran owned small business founded in 2010 by nationally renowned experts in electronics, power quality, energy efficiency engineering, fiber optics, low voltage distribution systems, electrical contracting, communications equipment, HVAC, plumbing, design-build, mechanical contracting and general construction services.
Phillip Sheckler is an honored veteran and the CEO of ABS. Mr. Sheckler was in the Navy 1968 to 1972 and served with the special operations unit “Seawolves” in Vietnam, resulting in a 50% combat rated disability from his service. The HA(L) -3 Seawolves were THE MOST decorated Squadron in the Vietnam War, and arguably in all of Naval Aviation History. Mr. Sheckler’s expertise in energy efficiency is recognized by the State California by appointing him to the California Select Committee on Energy Efficiency and being recognized as subject matter expert in this field by testifying to the California Assembly. He also was co-developer of the California Title 24 Training for Lighting Certification and continues to present this material for the utility SDG&E.
Prior to starting Sustainability Technologies, Inc. dba Astro Building Services, Mr. Sheckler had over 40 years’ experience in the technology and electrical industry as a contractor and consultant with significant responsibilities in the design, project management, financing, construction and operation of large-scale medical, commercial, military, and government facilities. Under Mr. Sheckler’s leadership ABS remains committed to providing customers with quality work, performed in a professional and prompt manner. ABS specializes in performing design/build, negotiated, and specification contracting services for Government, industrial, commercial, military and institutional clients.
